Savvy Construction is due to start the Salix-funded decarbonisation works at Pembroke College, Oxford in July. The work to the fabric of the Sir Geoffrey Arthur Building and Dining Hall will help improve thermal retention and environmental comfort for the students. The addition of low-carbon air source heat pumps will radically reduce the College's carbon footprint.
This is one of several decarbonisation projects that Savvy has been involved with recently where organisations based in older or heritage buildings are looking to address the thermal ratings of their buildings to achieve their long-term carbon reduction targets, including Blenheim Palace.
